The Institute of Decontamination Sciences (IDSc) Congress is a leading UK event for professionals working across medical device decontamination, sterile services and infection prevention. Taking place in Brighton from 23 - 25 November 2026, the congress brings together a multidisciplinary community to share knowledge, discuss emerging challenges and explore developments shaping the future of decontamination science.

The 2026 programme, themed “Engineering Intelligence and Assurance in Modern Decontamination Sciences,” will explore topics across sterile services, endoscope decontamination and on-site decontamination, alongside updates relevant to the NHS and the wider healthcare sector. Sessions will address contemporary challenges including evolving standards and regulations, innovation, and new technologies in medical device reprocessing.
