Rijswijk, Netherlands – November 2025 – UV Smart proudly announces a major regulatory milestone for UV-C disinfection technology in Switzerland. The latest edition of the Swiss Good Practice for the Reprocessing of Flexible, Thermolabile Endoscopes (GPAE) now officially recognizes UV-C disinfection as an approved method for reprocessing flexible endoscopes without channels, such as ENT scopes, when validated to achieve the efficacy of a high-level disinfectant.
“If a commercially available UV-C disinfection device achieves the microbicidal efficacy of a high-level disinfectant, it can be used for the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes without a channel in accordance with the manufacturer’s intended use.”
